A private safari is a configuration, not a different product. Any itinerary we operate can be run for your party alone, in your own 4x4 Land Cruiser, with the departure date and the daily pace set around you rather than around a schedule.

Kenya's southern circuit packs three very different landscapes into four days. Amboseli gives you big elephant families on short open grass with Kilimanjaro filling the horizon; Tsavo West is greener and more broken, built around lava flows and the clear springs at Mzima; Tsavo East is vast, red and open, the country most people picture when they imagine an African plain. The drive between them is short enough that you spend your time watching wildlife rather than covering distance.

This is the classic Kenyan circuit done at a comfortable pace, with a night on Lake Naivasha breaking what would otherwise be a long drive between the southern parks and the Mara. You get the two landscapes Kenya is best known for — Amboseli's elephant families under Kilimanjaro and the open grassland and big cats of the Maasai Mara — plus a freshwater lake in the Rift Valley that is a genuine change of pace rather than just a stopover.

8-Day Samburu, Ol Pejeta & Maasai Mara Luxury Safari

Most Kenyan itineraries stay south. This one goes north first, to Samburu, where the country is dry, rocky and stocked with species you will not see in the Mara at all — reticulated giraffe, Grevy's zebra, gerenuk, Beisa oryx and the blue-necked Somali ostrich. From there it drops to Ol Pejeta, the most significant rhino conservancy in East Africa, before finishing with three nights in the Mara. The contrast between the three is the point of the trip.

Kenya is one of the few countries where you can finish a serious safari and be swimming in the Indian Ocean the same afternoon. This journey takes the three parks that best justify the time — the Mara for predators, Nakuru for rhino and birds, Amboseli for elephants and the mountain — and then flies to Diani for three nights on the coast. The beach is not an afterthought here; it is three genuine nights, which is what it takes to actually unwind after six days of early starts.

No. The published figure is for the journey as listed. A private departure is priced on your group size and dates and is quoted separately.

Which journeys can be arranged privately?

Any safari itinerary in Kenya, including the ones we otherwise run as scheduled group departures.

Are the accommodation names guaranteed?

No. Properties are suggested for fit and current operation and confirmed on your written quotation. If one is unavailable for your dates we will propose a comparable property rather than substitute something lesser without telling you.
